What is Painless Delivery?
Most women think that a painless delivery means a C-section surgery. However, this is not true because another option is available that does not involve surgery. Painless delivery in Lahore refers to a normal vaginal birth with medical pain relief. It means that the sensation of pain is removed using modern medical techniques like epidural analgesia. You still push. You still feel the pressure of contractions. You just don’t feel the agony. This way, a mother can welcome her baby peacefully and experience this miraculous journey without the fear of pain. That’s the transformation painless delivery offers. It turns a stressful experience into a beautiful memory.
Types of Painless Delivery Options
Depending on your medical history, pain threshold, and stage of labor, Dr. Tazeen Ashraf offers several painless delivery methods. Our focus is on providing you with modern methods so you can choose based on your preferences. Here are different types of painless delivery methods used:
Epidural Analgesia [Most Common]
The gold standard for epidural painless delivery. A thin tube in your lower back delivers continuous medication. You feel no pain from the waist down but remain fully awake during the delivery process.
Combined Spinal-Epidural (CSE) — "Walking Epidural"
Spinal Analgesia
A single, one-time injection for rapid relief. Usually used for C-sections or if delivery is very close. Acts within 2 minutes.
Hydrotherapy / Water Birth
For those who want minimal intervention. Warm water immersion naturally reduces stress hormones and eases the contraction pain of the mother.
Breathing & Lamaze Techniques
Non-medical pain management. Dr. Tazeen teaches these in her antenatal sessions to help you stay calm, especially in early labor before the epidural.
Understanding Your Comfort: The Epidural Process
This is a procedure carried out very carefully by our team. You will be required to either sit down or lie on one side while bending your back such that the specialist gets easy access to the precise location at the base of your spine. Using a local anesthetic to numb your skin, we proceed to insert a little flexible tube (the catheter). The needle is then removed, and the catheter is in position for continued painless delivery.
This catheter delivers medication for pain relief throughout the delivery process. You are expected to feel more pressure and not pain. With the drug starting to take effect, you should experience reduced pain in less than 15-20 minutes. You will stay conscious, attentive, and aware of the sensations needed for you to push your baby out. The extreme pain is masked, leaving you comfortable and present for the best moment of your life.

In Case of Emergencies?
Cost of Painless Delivery
The painless delivery cost in Pakistan varies depending on hospital facilities, epidural delivery charges, and medical requirements. The cost typically includes consultation, labor monitoring, anesthesia, and post-delivery care. At Dr. Tazeen’s facility, the total package for epidural painless delivery typically depends on room type and length of clinic stay. Dr. Tazeen ensures there are no hidden epidural delivery charges popping up later. We give you the estimate upfront. While cost matters, peace of mind matters more. Therefore, choosing a qualified painless delivery specialist ensures safety for both mother and baby; something truly priceless.
Recovery After Painless Delivery
Because your body is not physically drained by hours of intense labor pain, recovery after painless normal delivery is often faster, smoother, and more comfortable. Within 2-3 hours, the effect of an epidural goes away. You can walk around after a few hours and nurse your baby. Remember to take care of yourself by having a diet rich in fiber for proper digestion and drinking enough fluids. These tips speed up the recovery phase. Moreover, follow-up visits are extremely important with Dr. Tazeen so that your progress can be regularly monitored.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is painless delivery safe for my baby?
Yes, it is very safe! Because the anesthesia stays in your back, it doesn’t enter your bloodstream in significant amounts. Your baby remains alert and healthy, ready to meet you.
Will I be able to push normally after the epidural?
Yes. You will lose "pain" sensation but keep "pressure" sensation. Dr. Tazeen and the nurse will guide you when to push.
Can I ask for painless delivery at any stage of labour?
A: Ideally between 4-7 cm dilation. However, come as soon as labor starts so we can plan.
How long does the epidural last?
As long as you need it. The catheter stays in your back. If labor takes 12 hours, we simply refill the medicine via the tube every 2 hours. It stops 30 minutes after we remove the tube post-delivery.
Does an epidural increase the chance of C-section?
No. This is an old myth. In fact, by allowing the mother to rest, an epidural often prevents emergency C-sections caused by fetal distress from maternal exhaustion. Dr. Tazeen promotes painless, normal delivery to specifically avoid surgery.
